PROLOZONE IN ST GEORGE UTAH

WHAT IS PROLOZONE?

Prolozone is a regenerative injection technique using natural medicine plus ozone, and is an Advanced form of Ozone Injection Therapy.

Prolozone is derived from the Latin word “proli” which means to proliferate, regenerate, and rebuild.

Prolozone is so named because the treatment uses ozone to stimulate healing, proliferation, regeneration, and rebuilding of new ligament and cartilage tissue in areas where they have become weak and painful.

This technique was developed by Frank Shallenberger, M.D., HMD in 1990.

HOW IS PROLOZONE DIFFERENT THAN CORTISONE (STEROID) SHOTS?

Cortisone (steroid) shots are a temporary solution and only mask the pain; they do not fix the cause.

Cortisone shots can permanently damage bones, ligaments, muscles, cartilage, and tendons resulting in a weakening of the joint and resultant degenerative joint disease (DJD), osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, and muscle weakness.

Doctors typically limit the number of cortisone shots because of the potential damage they can cause.

In contrast, prolozone injections do not damage the joint or surrounding tissues but signal “growth factors” to heal, repair and strengthen the connective tissues around the painful area.

Prolozone can provide a permanent fix to the underlying cause of pain without the negative side-effects of cortisone shots.

WHAT IS IN THE PROLOZONE SOLUTION?

The typical solution contains a blend of procaine re-polarizes injured cell membranes and improves circulation, B-vitamins, proliferatives, and a mixture of ozone/oxygen gas.

Ozone is a naturally-occurring gas composed of three atoms of oxygen (O3).

It is a naturally-occurring molecule that safely promotes cellular regeneration and stimulates the immune system to heal damaged tissue.

The combination works to create an ideal environment for pain reduction and healing of degenerated or injured tissues.

HOW DOES IT REDUCE PAIN AND REGENERATE TISSUES?

Prolozone involves the injection of nutrients and ozone around painful nerves, joints, tendons, and ligaments.

It works by stimulating the body’s immune system at the cellular level. It increases the amount of oxygen to the area, which reduces pain and boosts the body’s healing ability.

Prolozone also stimulates specific cells in the body to regenerate collagen and cartilage that the body uses to repair damaged ligaments and joints.

This regenerative activity strengthens and tightens the injured tissues, thereby stabilizing the area and removing the cause of pain.

WHAT CONDITIONS CAN PROLOZONE TREAT?

The most common ailments treated with Prolozone include shoulder pain from rotator cuff injuries, osteoarthritis of the knee, and back or neck pain from disc herniation or osteoarthritis of the spine.

It is also excellent for many other types of musculoskeletal or joint pain, including carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and virtually any sports injury.

Specific pain conditions include:

  • Neck Pain
  • Headaches
  • TMJ Syndrome
  • Whiplash
  • Degenerated discs
  • Herniated Discs
  • Rotator Cuff Tears
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Golfer’s Elbow
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Hip Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Torn Meniscus
  • Low Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Bone on Bone Conditions
  • Sports Injuries
  • Post Surgical Pain
  • Prosthetic Joints
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD)

RESULTS TO EXPECT

The response to treatment varies from individual to individual and depends upon one’s healing ability and severity of injury.

Some people need only one or two treatments, while others may need six or more.

The injection process is repeated on average between 4-6 times approximately every 1 to 2 weeks apart, until maximum improvement is noted.

Because of the regenerative abilities of prolozone, about 75% of chronic pain sufferers may become permanently pain-free.

It may take more injections in those that have had severe pain for many years. Each situation requires its own protocol. Please discuss this with Dr. Hardy.

And in some cases, booster shots may be needed after several months due to overuse or wear and tear.

Prolozone Therapy is a safe and natural and treatment.

All the research indicates there are no side effects when properly implemented.

Prolozone should always be considered as a treatment to address the cause of pain rather than the dangerous treatments involving prescription medications, steroid injections and especially surgery.
